Did Rafa Get It Wrong?

Was his pre-meditated attack on Fergie signs that he DID succumb to the mind games?

Was the manner in which he attacked Fergie wrong?

I think the answer to both those questions is Yes!

I for one loved the way he finally exposed Fergie for the "mob" boss that he thinks he is but Rafa should not have had such a public outburst. He should have just kept his cool and waited for Fergie to crack first.

What was worst for Rafa is that the team did not back his statements by drawing against Stoke. They put in a terrible performance. It looked like the players themselves were affected by the mind games.

Rafa's starting 11 was questionable and so were his subs and the timing of them. Players like Lucas and Benayoun were left on for too long.

Why was Torres left on the bench for so long and why Keene was not even used? These are the problems that Rafa has to address soon if we are to win that elusive 19th title or dear I say it the Mancs might end up equalling our record.

United fans are already celebrating like they won the title but remember we already got the points on the board, those 2 games that you got in hand won't coun't for anything unless you get maximum points and even if you do you still have to play us! So relax boys it looks like this ones going down to the wire.

  2. The thing for me is I can't understand why Rafa insist on playing with 2 holding midfielders even when Alonso or Mascherano are out.Lucas's inclusion on the weekend was a terrible mistake on Rafa's part. He should move Gerrard back into midfield and use either Kuyt or Keene up front with Torres.

Rafa tends to use the wrong players at the wrong time to try and blood them into the team or give them confidence.Lucas got a lot of stick a while back and Rafa publicly defended him.Babel deserves more time on the pitch on either flank or up front.Thats the only way he's going to show the class that prompted Rafa to bring him to Anfield

  3. I tend to disagree with you on the whole timing of the outburst. Rafa Benitez is a very calculating and articulate man (sometimes this is to his disadvantage when it comes to playing the right team at the right time) lets not forget that he led Valencia to 2 La Liga titles so he knows what it takes to win a league. The timing of the outburst I feel was to distract everyone from the Stevie G episode and his consequent arrest. By lashing out at Alex rafa has brought all the attention and pressure onto himself rather than onto our captain. It might backfire but on the other hand it might turn out to be quite a clevr move. Time will tell.

  4. In all honesty Rafa should take into accounts Ferguson's track record before opening his mouth, something like earning the right to chirp ...

  5. I hope you're right but do you think it would have a negative effect on the teams morale and eventually lead to bad performances.

  6. Red for Life - No I dont think it will lead to low morale. In my opinion if the Liverpool players should take anything from this it is that they are in a fight and they should step up and be counted. Whether they do it or not is a different matter. I hope they do so we can celebrate come May.
